FACE UP(ward)

🤯Late in the game, when we have the lead, we know as hoopers that the opposition will act out of desperation and apply crazy pressure.

⚠️They will press, run and jump and attempt to force us into rushed shots and sloppy turnovers.

😨They know that the only way they can win is if we give them the game by being affected by the pressure.

⛹️‍♀️On the court, the remedy for chaotic pressure is; a good press breaker and confident players; when you have those two things, all you have to do is come and meet the ball, face up and attack the pressure knowing their tricks cannot stop you from securing the win.

👿 There’s a clever phrase, “new level, new devil.” The phrase means that as you are close to a victory, the devil’s going to throw the full-court press on you, hoping you don’t know God well enough to face UP (to Him), attack his pressure and run God’d press breaker.

🙌🏾God’s press breaker, which will always prevail against pressure, tells us in James 4: 7 to “resist the devil, and he will flee from us.”

❗️❗️We do that by:

🏀Humbling ourselves

🏀Coming closer to God, which will allow Him to come closer to us

🏀Purify our hearts, and 100% commit to God’s game plan, instead of choosing to play “hero-ball.”
