CULTURE CONTRACT

Through God's power, we will not rest until we squeeze every ounce of potential and opportunity out of our talent.

Through this commitment, our talent will take us to heights we never knew existed.

Most importantly, we will never allow our talent to surpass our character.

Through our commitment to our character, we will shine bright like God created us to do, and change the world in His name and for His purposes.

Our combination of character and talent will allow others to see God through us without us even having to say a word.

This isn't my culture, nor is it yours. It's God's, and we are just embracing our small but significant role.

God X Basketball Game-day Challenge

Taking time to celebrate what God has already done will provide you with faith and expectancy in your future pursuits.

Each game day, take at least 15 minutes in the presence of God and do two things:

1. Reflect on all God’s blessings thus far.

Think about:

• the doors God opened to allow you to play this game

• the doors He closed to allow you to play this game

• the tears cried and the adversity overcome

Go back to a time when you were younger and playing this game was just a prayer, a distant dream you didn’t even know was going to come true.

Go back to a moment when the obstacle that lay between you and your dream appeared so big that you did not believe you could overcome it. Yet here you are, living out your dream.

As you do this, simply thank God for all He has done, and share this moment with Him.

2. Identify one person God used to help you be able to play in today’s game and live out your dreams.

a. Once you identify that person, pray to God, thanking Him for that person and their contribution.

b. Pray for that person and their family.

c. Ask God never to allow you to forget their contribution.

d. In God’s presence, reflect on what that person did specifically. Determine how you can honor their contribution by how you compete on the court and the character you conduct yourself with off the court.

e. Text that person, and thank them for what they’ve done for you. Let them know how appreciative you are for their contribution to your success.

The same God who heard and answered that prayer is the same God who will transport you from where you are now to where you are praying to go on the court and in every other area of your life. By taking time to celebrate what God has already done, you will learn faith and expectancy in your future pursuits.

keep going

I know it's tough right now.

I know it seems as if there's no light at the end of the tunnel.

I know it seems you may as well do wrong becauase it appears there's no reward for doing right.

I know you feel invisible and your good deeds seem to go unnoticed while those who take shortcuts and compromise their character seem to win. I know you feel lonely, misunderstood, and isolated.

I know you're second-guessing yourself and feel you made the wrong decision.

I know everybody's telling you to settle, and everything in you is telling you the same. I know it seems like you should quit, but I can't let you do that. God is speaking through me to strengthen you!

He told me to tell you to fight just a little bit longer.

He told me that He will never put more on you than you can bear.

He told me that the answer to your question of “Why me?” is that you are His warrior. You would never know what you can do through His power if you did not overcome what you are about to overcome.

He told me when He looks at you, He sees what He created, a diamond. He is just allowing the fires you are going through to transform you from the dusty piece of coal you are now into the bright, shiny, one-of-a-kind diamond you will be.

He told me He loves you far too much to allow you to remain a piece of coal.

He told me you'd ask, why can't I just be a diamond right now. He told me to tell you HE wanted others to see your transformation; those who believe in Him and in you, those who lack faith and need proof, and the haters who laughed and said you would never amount to anything.

He told me that the hell you will overcome to be a diamond will allow you to receive God's blessings humbly, and as a result be a blessing and inspiration to others.

He told me to tell you that no matter what you are going through, His grace is all you need and His power works best in your weakness. He told me to tell you it will all be worth it in the end, and when you get through what you are going through, He will smile and tell you, "Great job, my good and faithful servant."
