Live life with a Mamba Mentality

🐍In a 2016 interview Kobe broke down what the mamba mentality is, "constantly trying to be the best version of yourself." He further explained that "it's a constant quest to try to be better today than you were yesterday."⠀

🎯God's word validates Kobe's mental recipe for success:⠀

1) We were created from excellence, with excellence to pursue excellence - (Psalm 139:14).⠀

2) God created us with a purpose and a plan (Jeremiah 29:11 ).⠀

3)To fulfill that plan, God's word demands that with every day God gives us we, willingly ought to work as if we are working for God (Colossians 3:23) and work to glorify His name (1Corinthians 10:31).

🕺🏾Kobe said the best advice he ever received was from Micheal Jackson, during his rookie year, Jackson told him that if he wanted to be great, he needed to study those that were already great.

🥇🏆As we celebrate the life and legacy of one of our basketball heroes, Kobe Bryant, we should take heed of the advice Jackson imparted to him and study Kobe's mentality of excellence.⠀

‼️Kobe was built different, and the scriptures included in this devotional demand that we navigate through life with a Mamba-like standard that says:⠀

-Good ain't good enough ⠀

-99.9 percent of our ability is not even good enough⠀

🗣The only way we can live life in such a way is to be in constant pursuit of the best version of ourselves.

And 1: Identify at least one person of greatness that God has placed in your life to study, both in basketball and in your life's journey overall.

Drop a dime: Challenge at least one teammate (or friend) to develop a "Mamba Mentality" and share this devotional with them.⠀

Prayer: Lord, we thank you for Kobe's example of excellence. We ask that you give us the mentality to attack life like Kobe did basketball. By doing so, we will ensure that the excellence you created us with and for is not wasted. Also, we remain in continued prayer for the healing, strength, and comfort for the families of; Kobe and Gianna Bryant, John, Alyssa, and Keri Altobelli, Sarah and Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, and Ara Zobayan. - Amen ⠀
